Welcome to HanziiGo! These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of our Chinese (Mandarin) language learning platform. By using HanziiGo, you agree to these terms.
Account Registration
To use HanziiGo, you must:
- Create an account with accurate and valid information
- Keep your login credentials secure and confidential
- Update your information when necessary
- Be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account
- Be at least 13 years of age (or 16 in the European Economic Area)
Content Usage
When using our platform:
- Content is for personal, non-commercial learning purposes only
- Do not redistribute or copy any materials from the Service
- Respect intellectual property rights and copyright
- Comply with all applicable fair use regulations
Intellectual Property
Ownership of Learning Materials
Except for third-party content, the HanziiGo platform and all content published on it — including learning materials, illustrations, icons, user interface, source code, the "HanziiGo" brand name, logo, and other identifying marks — are owned by HanziiGo or its licensors and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
- All rights not expressly granted to users are fully reserved by HanziiGo
- Accessing or using the platform does not grant you any ownership rights over the materials
- You may use platform content solely for personal learning and may not copy, redistribute, or exploit it on any other website or service without prior written consent from HanziiGo
Third-Party Content
Some content on the platform may belong to third parties and is used by HanziiGo under lawful license, including:
- Embedded video content from third-party streaming platforms such as YouTube
- Licensed fonts, icons, and images from third-party providers
- Language reference materials and pronunciation data from partners
User Conduct
Users must:
- Use the platform respectfully and in good faith
- Not disrupt or interfere with other users' learning experience
- Not attempt to access restricted areas or bypass security measures
- Not use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the Service
- Not exploit bugs or vulnerabilities (please report them to hanziigo@gmail.com instead)
- Not abuse the PvP arena or leaderboard features to harass other users
We reserve the right to suspend or permanently terminate accounts that violate these rules, without refund.
Premium Subscriptions & Purchases
HanziiGo offers both free and premium features. For premium subscriptions and in-app purchases:
- All payments are processed by Apple (App Store) or Google (Google Play)
- Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the billing period
- Cancellations can be managed in your App Store or Google Play account settings
- We do not offer refunds for partial periods, except where required by applicable law
Data & Privacy
We process your data in accordance with our Privacy Policy. By using HanziiGo, you agree to:
- Our data collection practices as described in the Privacy Policy
- Processing of learning analytics and progress data
- Storage of your practice history and account information
Pronunciation Scoring Features
Our AI-powered pronunciation scoring features are designed with your privacy in mind:
- Your voice recordings are sent in real time to Google Gemini API for analysis only
- We do not store your voice recordings on our servers after processing
- Audio data is discarded immediately after scoring is complete
- Microphone access requires your explicit permission and can be revoked at any time in your device settings
YouTube API Services
Our Listening Dictation feature uses the YouTube API Services. By using this feature, you also agree to:
- YouTube's Terms of Service (youtube.com/t/terms)
- Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy)
- YouTube's developer policies and usage restrictions
- YouTube's right to modify or revoke API access
The YouTube API Services are provided by YouTube LLC. HanziiGo is not affiliated with or endorsed by YouTube or Google.
Disclaimer of Warranties
The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. HanziiGo does not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that content is perfectly accurate. While we strive to provide high-quality Chinese language content, HanziiGo is a learning tool and not a certified language qualification service.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes are published means you accept the updated Terms.
